State Champ Crimmins back for Gravity Enduro Rollercoaster race

The reigning gravity enduro state and Australian national gravity cup champion Thomas Crimmins from Bredbo has just confirmed to race at the Flow Rollercoaster NSW/ACT Gravity Enduro Series, which is is making its final stop for 2013 at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra with Round 3 this Sunday, 28 July. Organisers from Rocky Trail Entertainment expect 150-180 riders from Canberra and Sydney-regions, but also racers from Victoria and Queensland.

With their gravity enduro events in NSW and ACT, Rocky Trail Entertainment have created a flagship series in answer to this latest mountain bike racing trend in Australia. Their Flow Rollercoaster gravity enduro races have become overwhelmingly popular with local cross-country and downhill riders alike in recent months, united by their passion for exploring trails, racing exhilarating and fast descents and spending a great day out on their bikes together.

“We’ve hosted three series races and a championship event so far this year”, says Martin Wisata, race director at Rocky Trail Entertainment and hints that more gravity enduro events are already in the pipeline. “We are scouting new venues currently and will be ready to kick of the 2014 season early.”

State Champion Crimmins to race at Stromlo
One rider who masters the combination of endurance and technical skill requirements is Bredbo’s 2013 Junior Downhill Oceania Champion, Thomas Crimmins, who won the elite title at the Flow Rollercoaster NSW/ACT Championships in April in Thredbo. Both him and his brother Andrew will compete this Sunday at Stromlo and are said to be looking forward to the social aspects of the race. “The nature of this type of race is that it lets us include a great variety of venues – and Stromlo is one of the highlights of the series. Our racers venture out to the race starts, explore the entire trail network and complete a set of timed challenges throughout the day”, explained Martin Wisata. He furthermore confirmed that the current elite series leader and experienced cross-country endurance athlete Jon Odams from Sydney’ South will be at the start line to claim his overall title.

Online registration closes on Saturday, 27 July, unless sold out prior.
